Pinguicula gracilis is a member of section Temnoceras, which also includes members such as emarginata, clivorum, crenatiloba, and immaculata. Found in the state of Nuevo Leon on Cerro de las Mitras, this plant is found on calcareous rock under oak trees at elevations around 1000m and cypress trees at elevations around 1800m. This plant is only found on this mountain, and has not been found elsewhere. The plant itself is a relatively easy to grow species that has pointed, upturned leaves. The leaves themselves are bright green while the upturned margins are a purplish color, making a nice color contrast. Slowly clumps into small clusters, and currently growing fine in a sandy, vermiculite and perlite mix. This plant has not flowered for me yet, but instead loves slowly forming clumps. I'm not complaining though, as I love ripping apart extras (no plants were harmed in this process) to create more leaf pullings.
